When I squat with weight I still focus on pushing the knees out as I go down and as I drive up. This is engaging the glutes and keeping the firing pattern appropriate. I don't know what the focus of the ball is. I'm sure there is a reason to have people do it. I just haven't done it so I can't speak to it. My guess would be that like me with the Rubber band it is to correct a specific problem. I just don't know what it is.
-Nate
nateruns@hotmail.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01851427962048556845noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2274438111706927359.post-34691062281008572042016-11-15T07:54:51.884-08:002016-11-15T07:54:51.884-08:00Rob - thank you for asking that. Also, have any of your therapists suggested putting a ball/yoga ball between your knees while doing the squats? I'll try to make a video or find a video of the sideways walking and side ways skipping drills that I have been doing which have made a night and day difference for my ankles and my toe off.
-Natenateruns@hotmail.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01851427962048556845noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2274438111706927359.post-81460519850965640292016-11-12T08:54:13.469-08:002016-11-12T08:54:13.469-08:00Hi Nate,
I am having similar ankle/chilles issues...Hi Nate,

I am having similar ankle/chilles issues ..... how have you managed to overcome this block? Deep squats (un-wieghted) seem to be encouraging toe-off, not sure why. Any tips would be welcome.

robRob Burhamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05878998994715696476noreply@blogger.com
